 | The Fine Arts Commission is comprised of members who are appointed on the basis of their knowledge, experience and dedication to cultural affairs and who have demonstrated a deep interest in the arts and culture of the city.
Commissioners work with culture and arts organizations in various parts of the city to promote and enlarge arts opportunities for the citizens of the city. The commission develops plans and reviews financial requirements in order to make recommendations to the mayor and common council on artistic opportunities.
The commission reviews application packages, interviews applicants and distributes fine arts grant money in excess of $100,000 a year to an array of performing arts organizations in the city.
