spay/neuter programs

All animals adopted from animal control are required by law to be spayed or neutered. This must be done before the pet goes home with the new owner. Services for this surgery are provided by local low-cost spay/neuter clinics.

Effective April 5, 2007, the City of San Bernardino passed a mandatory spay/neuter ordinance requiring all dogs over the age of four months to be spayed or neutered. A registered purebred show dog that has competed in at least one dog show or competition during the year is exempt.
