The Northeast District is one of four unique patrol districts within the City of San Bernardino. It is one of two districts in the Northern Patrol Division. The district is divided into seven different patrol beats. Officers are assigned to specific beats for an entire shift. Officers are assigned to a patrol district for one year (January to December each year). Beat assignments may be permanent; however, most beat assignments are assigned at the start of each patrol shift based on staffing and the needs of the district, the division, and the department.
