DUI Enforcement Operations Planned this Weekend

San Bernardino, CA – Officers from the San Bernardino Police Department’s DUI Enforcement Team will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the Department’s on going traffic safety campaign. DUI Saturation Patrols will deploy on Sunday, February 1, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. in areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests.

“We will continue to do our part in finding and prosecuting impaired drivers in order to make our streets a safer place,” said San Bernardino Police Chief Jarrod Burguan PD. “This is a ‘Zero Tolerance’ crackdown so Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over!”

Night-time Click-It-or-Ticket Enforcement Operation

The San Bernardino Police Department deployed additional officers to conduct a citywide Click-It-or-Ticket Enforcement Operation from 7:00pm to 3:00am on Saturday, January 24, 2015 with a special focus on seatbelt and child restraint seat violations.

During this detail officers made 40 traffic stops. 5 people were given FSTs, 3 of which were arrested for DUI (2 alcohol/ 1 drugs). 2 additional people were arrested (1 for warrants/1 for Non-DUI charges). 7 people were cited for either having a suspended/revoked license or were unlicensed drivers. 11 citations were issued for seatbelt violations and 12 citations were issued for other misc. traffic violations. 6 vehicles were impounded with 4 of those on 30-day holds.

Public Information Release - Streets Resurfacing

The City of San Bernardino Public Works Department plans to resurface forty seven street segments through a contract with a local contractor, Matich Corporation. In addition to pavement resurfacing, the contract work includes some minor concrete repairs of damaged curbs, gutters and cross gutters as well as the installation of new access ramps at various locations within the designated street segments. Work is expected to begin in January and continue through the summer.
