San Bernardino, CA – San Bernardino Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint on Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Northwest District of San Bernardino between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
The San Bernardino Police Department deployed additional officers to conduct a citywide Traffic Enforcement Operation from 8:00am to 4:00pm on Monday, July 21, 2014 with a special focus on violations that have been noted as the primary collision factor on many traffic collisions in our city. During this detail 109 vehicles were stopped. 2 people were arrested for driving under the influence (1 of alcohol/ 1 drugs), 2 people were arrested for warrants. 76 citations were issued for misc. traffic violations, 14 citations were issued to people found driving on a suspended or revoked license, and 8 citations were issued to drivers who were unlicensed. 17 vehicles were impounded with 15 of those impounded for 30 days.
The San Bernardino Police Department conducted a DUI Saturation Patrol from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2014. During this event 29 vehicles were stopped, 6 people were given field sobriety tests, 5 of which were arrested for driving under the influence (3 alcohol/1 drugs/1 combination). 2 people were arrested for possession of illegal narcotics. 19 citations were issued for miscellaneous traffic violations, 4 citations were issued to drivers operating vehicles with a suspended or revoked drivers license, 3 citations were issued to unlicensed drivers and 9 vehicles were impounded.
