Registration now open for our Lil' Strikers youth soccer program

July 6, 2017 

As youth sports programming returns to the City of San Bernardino Parks and Recreation Department, we're excited to announce the start of Lil' Strikers, an 8-week soccer program.

This soccer program is designed to introduce participants, ages 3 - 6 years old, to organized soccer practices and games. Lil’ Strikers will be a fun, non-competitive, instructional program that will teach age appropriate soccer techniques. Participants will also be taught teamwork and sportsmanship.

Lil’ Strikers will begin the week of September 5, 2017. Parents may register their child now through August 19, 2017. The fee is $30 for City of San Bernardino residents and $33 for non-residents. Fees Include a t-shirt, picture packet, and participation award.

San Bernardino Public Library Supports Footsteps2Brilliance Countywide Early Literacy Program

The San Bernardino Public Library (SBPL) has joined in supporting a new countywide early literacy program called Footsteps2Brilliance that is part of the San Bernardino Countywide Vision2Read literacy campaign, a collective impact initiative involving multiple agencies working collaboratively to increase literacy rates among children and families in the county.

Statement Regarding Shooting at North Park Elementary School

April 10, 2017 

This morning, the students and staff at North Park Elementary were victims of a shooting event. San Bernardino City and School Police responded immediately and are currently on scene with other local public safety agencies. We encourage the community to stay clear of the area and to keep the students, staff, and families of North Park Elementary in prayer.

San Bernardino Quality of Life Team Wins Award from Regional Economic Development Organization

Last night, the region’s only economic development organization, Inland Empire Economic Partnership (IEEP), recognized the San Bernardino Quality of Life Team with the Public-Private Partnership Award at their Fourth Annual Red Tape to Red Carpet Awards sponsored by J.P. Morgan Chase. The purpose of the event is to recognize agencies that have developed innovative ways to avoid bureaucratic red tape for the betterment of local economies and communities.
