Investigations Commander Lt. D. Keil explains that on Monday, April 13, 2009, at about 7:15 PM, the San Bernardino Police Department's dispatch center received reported of a possible shooting in the 700 block of West Olive Street in San Bernardino. Patrol officers and paramedics from the San Bernardino City Fire Department responded to the scene. When uniformed patrol officers arrived, they located two gunshot victims inside a residence.
Ms. Lashanne McDaniels (age 33, of Rialto) was pronounced dead at the scene. A 40-year-old male from Bellflower (name held pending notification of kin) was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where he died a short time later. It is believed that the shooting occurred as a result of illegal drug activity.
On Tuesday, April 14, 2009, homicide detectives were able to identify Mr. Anthony Scoot (age 19, of San Bernardino), Mr. Clinton Walker (age 28, of San Bernardino), and Mr. Terrance Smith (age 46, of San Bernardino) as suspecting involved in this shooting.
At about 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2009, patrol officers located Mr. Scott and Mr. Walker in the 1100 block of North Arrowhead Avenue, in San Bernardino. Both men were taken into custody with incident. Mr. Smith voluntarily surrendered himself at the San Bernardino Police Headquarters.
