Human Resources strives to provide courteous, effective and high quality service to all Water Department divisions, employees and customers with regard to Water Department Human Resources programs and activities. Services provided include:

  • Recruitment planning
  • Exam development
  • Establishing and maintaining classification and compensation practices
  • Assisting with organizational development, reorganization and structuring of positions and work within divisions
  • Advising employees of the provisions and enrollment options for various health, dental, vision, life insurance, medical and child care reimbursement, deferred compensation and retiree health plans
  • Administering leave programs
  • Administering the Long-Term Disability plan
  • Developing and updating policies and procedures
  • Administering employee evaluation practices
  • Administering employee incentive plans
  • Preparing and processing a variety of personnel transactions
  • Representing the Water Department in labor relations and negotiations
  • Administering disciplinary actions
