Pollution Prevention Program
The Environmental Control Section actively promotes a Pollution Prevention Program designed to inform Industrial Users about alternate housekeeping practices designed to minimize the amount of pollutants discharged to the Water Reclamation Plant. A small silver waste generator program is also operated to reduce the amount of silver waste discharged from x-ray units and photo processing units operated by Industrial Users. A separate Pollution Prevention program that details the operation of a wastewater treatment facility is designed for elementary school children.
