The City of San Bernardino Municipal Water Department's Water Quality section is responsible for assuring safe and potable drinking water to our customers by meeting and exceeding all State of California Department of Health Services and United States Environmental Protection Agency Drinking Water Standards. This assurance is based upon the year-round sample collection and analysis of thousands of samples collected by highly-trained and California State-Certified Technicians. Water Quality Control Technicians also administer the Department's Cross-Connection Control Program to abate and assure the elimination of harmful contaminants entering into the water supply by conducting year-round site surveys and enforcing the annual testing of thousands of Backflow Prevention Assemblies.
