The San Bernardino Municipal Water Department recently constructed a Co-Generation Facility at the Water Reclamation Plant. The Co-Generation project consists of two 750 kilowatt generators fueled by methane gas generated from the bio-solids produced at the Water Reclamation Plant during the waste water treatment processes.

Customer Rate Notification

On June 20, 2006, the Board of Water Commissioners implemented a 3.3% adjustment to water charges for each of the next years, effective July 1, 2006. You will see the change in your August water bill. Also, SBMWD will no longer provide the first five hundred cubic feet of water monthly for free. We are the only regional water provider who maintained this practice, but we can no longer afford to do so.
