However, the cash you provide may support debilitating addictions, shorten the lives of homeless individuals and support their ability to live on the street rather than receive permanent help. The San Bernardino Police Department is asking you to help discourage panhandling in our city by refusing those who ask for change on the street. Please donate to the United Way and other organizations that can make a difference in the lives of the homeless.
