Ceremonial Documents

The Office of the Mayor issues several Ceremonial Documents to visiting dignitaries, prominent individuals and residents of the City of San Bernardino that include Certificates, Letters, Proclamations, and Resolutions. The Office of the Mayor receives hundreds of such requests per year.

In order to process these requests quickly, the following standard policies and procedures will be guide requestors.

  • All requests will go through an internal review and approval process with final approval provided by the Mayor.

  • All requests must be submitted in a neatly printed or typed format.

  • All requests need to be received at least two to three weeks prior to the date the document is needed to the following address:

  • All requests must include the name and daytime telephone number/e-mail address of the contact person.

Submitting a draft of the document desired with the request will expedite the process considerably. Requests for a ceremonial document are typically limited to one per organization and/or per individual per year.

Ceremonial documents may be picked up only after you have been notified it is ready at 290 North D Street, 8th Floor, San Bernardino, CA 92401, between 9am and 4pm, Monday through Friday.

All requests must follow the appropriate criteria highlighted.
